HONEST NOTE: The Dominant Industry inks are extraordinary but they are not suitable for fountain pens with fine nibs — the pigment particles will clog. Use them in a medium or broader nib, or as a dip pen ink.

The Dominant Industry inks

HONEST NOTE: NOT FOR FOUNTAIN PENS — carbon particles will clog feeds irreversibly. This is an absolute restriction stated by Deleter. Clean dip pen nibs immediately after use — dried carbon black adheres tenaciously to metal and is very difficult to remove. The ink is waterproof when fully dry — do not apply wet media before the ink has completely dried and cured on the paper.

Deleter Black No. 4

HONEST NOTE: The only format available at Inkwell is 11×17in (approximately 279×432mm), 24 sheets, Smooth surface. This is a US production size — it is not A3 and there is no A4 version. 270gsm Bristol board is not suitable for heavy watercolour wash or multiple wet layers; the 270gsm weight does not mean the same as 270gsm watercolour paper. For pen and wash with significant wet media, use Arches Hot Press or Stillman & Birn Beta instead

Strathmore Sequential Art Bristol

HONEST NOTE: Natural sable requires active care to justify the investment: never leave standing in water, never store wet in a closed container, reshape when damp and leave to dry flat or tip-up. Leaving brushes standing in a rinse jar overnight is the single most common cause of premature sable brush failure. The correct care takes thirty seconds after each session

The Inkwell Circle - Loyalty Programme

Subscribe and we Recycle

50 billion plastic pens enter landfill every year — and too many end up in our oceans and ecosystems. Single-use pens aren't going anywhere, and they shouldn't have to. They just shouldn't have to end up there either.

While most of what we sell is refillable by nature, the Inkwell Circle is here for everything else. Send back any single-use pens — any brand, not just ours — using your freepost returnable bag, and we'll make sure they don't go to waste. We've partnered with specialist recyclers to ensure every pen is repurposed into something new, keeping materials in circulation and out of the ground.
